Today\u2019s musings will be short. I want to mostly post a bunch of pics I took at the beach. But first… a bit about going to the beach.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t care how old you are, a beach day makes you a teenager again… well, at least it does me. I want to go get a surfboard and wow everyone with my skills. \u2018Cept I never had great surfer skills. I always went off to a secluded area where I could try to surf with no one watching. These days I look for a secluded area for different reasons… but that\u2019s for another tale.<\/p>\n

I got to be \u201cOK\u201d as a surfer, but never more than that. What was most important is that you were \u201ccool\u201d just carrying a surfboard… or \u201ccool\u201d sitting on the beach with a surfboard… or \u201ccool\u201d just driving around town with a surfboard. Maybe that\u2019s what I\u2019ll do now. I\u2019ll get a surfboard to carry around to be cool. I\u2019ll have to find a secluded beach to see if I can still even stand up on the surfboard…\u00a0 of course knowing where a secluded beach is has other \u201cadvantages\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the past, part of the reason we all went to the beach was to get a tan. Today, going to the beach is vastly different for most folks…\u00a0we are scared of bad things the sun can do to you. Everyone seems to slather SPF # ten-zillion all over themselves. Not me. I still go out and try to get \u201csome sun\u201d. I do carry Coppertone with me so that I don\u2019t get sun burned, but protection isn\u2019t the only reason for specifically using Coppertone… it\u2019s because of the smell. Nothing says \u201cBeach, Sun & Surf\u201d to me more than the smell of Coppertone.<\/p>\n

So… today I went down to the beach. I don\u2019t have a surfboard, but I do have a \u201cboogie board\u201d. The surf is kinda flat in this region, so it\u2019s about 50\/50 if you would be able to go surfin\u2019. But a \u201cboogie board\u201d is good about 90% of the time. The water was warm. I grabbed my \u201cboogie board\u201d…\u00a0 flogged myself into the water… and I was a teenager again.<\/p>\n
